I was in Mexico City in June during the World Cup finals. One afternoon it took over an hour to go around three sides of the Zocolo by van. To be fair, it might have taken quite a while to walk the same distance–the throng was incredible.
On the other hand, we had ample time to watch the shamans ritually cleansing clients, hucksters selling things, the crowd massing up to watch the game on the giant plasma TV–it was an amazing scene.
I just wanted to say Richard and Lyn: if i get rich ever I’m going to get you guys situated! your blog would be missed if bills took you out of the game. If I weren’t a starving artist living hand to mouth, I’d paypal you right now. cross your fingers for my career, holmes. 😉
