Speaking of the press…

12 May 2008

Mysteriously, the United States Postal Service has issued a stamp honoring Chicano journalist Ruben Salazar. I say mysteriously because the powers-that-be don’t usually honor people whose heads were blown off by rampaging police officers breaking up a peace demonstration.

A tip of the sombrero to Janinsanfran who has… as they say… the rest of the story.

I guess that the Bush Administration has once again attempted to gain Hispanic votes. It is too bad that the rest of the Republican Party does not favor easier immigration reform that would allow more good Mexicans to immigrate, while putting the bad ones in prison and not deporting them back to Mexico (or where ever the hell they came from like we do now. Only to have them commit another DUI after they sneak back in).

Remember, the Republican party also has to get the votes of the dumb protectionist anti-freetrade Evangelicals who might actually have thier jobs threatened by those who are of the same inteligence and are willing to work for less. Damn it!
