Could you atleast translate? We need to see if they got McCain’s amnesty for illegal immigration stace correct. I am sure they did, but like most Left wing Mexican-Americans, they might have forgotten that Bush was pro-amnesty and guest worker before the Rednecks in the republican party went crazy over the idea. McCain thinks the same way.
The sad thing was they knew that he was Bilingual when he was governor of Texas. I wish that Bush’s origional guest worker idea had gone through, but too many rednecks said no. Come to think of it the Republican party screwed most of his good ideas.
My point was just that McCain is not seen as particularly relevant (and Milenio is a “middle of the road to conservative” newspaper)… but, what the box says about him is that he “Favors reinforcing the border” and “Promotes immigration reform and a guest worker program.”
Who is bi-lingual? Not McCain or Obama. George W. speaks some Spanglish, but he’s incomprehensible to Spanish speakers. There was some bemusement — and amusement — when Bush addressed the Spanish Cortes (parliament) in what he thought was Spanish back during his first time, when that body had a pro-U.S. majority.
Bush — and Obama — both do ok in Spanish when reading from a prepared text, so at least can pronounce the words relatively correctly.
