A well-known close observer of United States politics said the other day:
[Barack Obama] was born, educated, made policy and succeeded in the imperial capitalist system of the United States. He does not want nor can he change the system. The funny thing is that, despite this, the extreme right hates him for being African-American and fighting to improve his country’s tarnished image.
I harbor no doubt that the racist right will do everything possible to wear him out, hinder his programs and knock him out of the game one way or another, at the lowest political cost to themselves. I hope I’m wrong!
Guess who! Pretty observant old fart.
