Gone… but not forgotten

13 August 2010

The old look and feel for this site disappeared, and the replacement sucked.  I wasn’t planning to spend any time on this, and didn’t… there was a canned wordpress “theme” that looks easier for me to work with than the replacement one … but it lost the pretty pictures at the top, which I’ll drop back in later this evening.

Shall I say it? Should I just keep quiet? Oh what the heck….

The green background is absolutely hideous amigo! It’s actually hurting my eyes, and probably damaging my laptop screen as we speak!

There’s a few new themes been released of late that are stylish and minimalistic – like you said on another post, it’s the content that matters. I agree….that’s one reason I switched to WordPress.com. The temptation to add scripts and crap to my old Blogger blog was just too tempting and I kept turning it into a blog hell.

Twenty Ten (which I use), Structure, Enterprise and Oulipo would all suit your content if you ask me. Which you didn’t, but anyway….!

Whatever you choose….please – no green!

    🙂

    Damn buddy! This green sucks!
Try the default WP theme (Two Twenty). Looks decent enough and easy to work with or contact me. I’ve got several you might enjoy

Phew! The green is gone! 🙂

Your categories drop down menu stretches way off the screen though – some of your cat names are just tooooo long! Also, you need to add the title ‘Mex Files’ into the image itself.

You probably know all this already……just trying to be helpful!

The blue title ‘The Mex Files’ now now gets lost in the busy banner background…
maybe white would be more legible…
‘About the banner’ in ‘Who we are’ still describes the previous banner.
