The phone bills are paid, but having to work a bizarro schedule (and editing a book for January release date) has put everything on hold for longer than I expected.
DSL service is STILL not working out here in Alpine, but I’m promised service by Tuesday (tomorrow).

The Mexfiles has never expected to turn a profit, but personal funds only go so far. Miscellaneous expenses (telephone, internet connection, subscriptions, spyware, hardware repair, etc.) run about 600 pesos (35 US$) a month, and donations are gratefully accepted. Please note that your donations are in Mexican Pesos (18 pesos to the US Dollar as of February 2019). A 25 US$ donation is 450 pesos.

Oh the lovely internet qualms of Alpine.
I am a former Alpine resident returning in October I just discovered your blog and am VERY happy about it! I am returning to Alpine from completeing a degree in Philosophy at U.N.T. and will hopefully be working close with the community to organize a Border Issues/Rights/Politics etc. magazine. Following this I hope to organize and stage a series of demonstrations and protests along the Rio Grande involving immigrant rights, border philosophy, stressing a non-violent technologically transcendent approach to expressing unity along the Mexican American border. I know this is a mouthful, perhaps in the near future we can have a cup of coffee.
