Carlin was an atheist. He detested religion especially Roman Catholicism.
If he would have been born in Mexico and had the same life in poverty that he had in the US, there is little doubt that he would have eventually escaped to America.
Certainly… an atheist of the Irish persuasion, who would have had great fun with the Mexican Catholic traditions.
