Uh… you mean like the guys who disappeared people ... or, I suppose, as the Bushistas will call it, “enhanced misplacement”? Wasn’t it was prosecuting torturers and international war criminals that ended the era of “colonels in mirrored sunglasses”?

I can’t believe that Latin American countries are now being held up as ‘backward’ or whatever for prosecuting their human rights abusers. Like the act of PROSECUTING criminals is the problem, rather than letting perpetrators go free?! Gobsmacked.
