The Mexfiles has never expected to turn a profit, but personal funds only go so far. Can you imagine the kerfuffle if such a thing were erected anywhere in the USA? The right-wing press would have a field day about “supporting communism.” Whereas in Mexico such things seem to go virtually unnoticed. Interesting cultural difference.
