Colonel Garduño Nuñez was the last surviving pilot of Mexico’s Escuadron 201, and… the last WWII Mexican combat veteran.
Incidentally, the photos are from the Russian Embassy, the then Soviet Union and Mexico having fought fascists on different fronts well before the other Allies were all in.
